Professor Cao began studying music at an early age. After completing his undergraduate studies at a conservatory of music, he pursued advanced studies in the United States, specializing in pop music. He earned his master’s degree in 2019 and returned to China shortly thereafter. Boasting strong professional capabilities in music business, music production, recording & mixing, and songwriting, he founded the music label Zhire Music (Def Hits Music) in October 2020.
Throughout his career, Professor Cao has held diverse roles including founder, managing director, music producer, engineer, and songwriter. Currently serving as the key person of Beijing Zhire Music Culture Communication Co., Ltd., he oversees artist management and music business operations, conducts music market analysis, scouts for emerging talent, assembles and leads commercial songwriting teams, and supervises music production, recording, mixing, and mastering. Additionally, he is in the process of launching two music education brands: Mix With C.Y.B. and Songwriting Circle (Xiegequan).
In his early career, Professor Cao worked as the manager and engineer at Shenyang Juli Recording Studio, where he was responsible for recording, mixing, studio management, and marketing.
His educational background includes a Master of Music (MM) in Songwriting from New York University (NYU), a Bachelor of Music (BM) with double majors in Music Production & Engineering and Songwriting from Berklee College of Music, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Composition from Shenyang Conservatory of Music.
Notable achievements: Founded music education brands Mix With C.Y.B. (focused on music production and songwriting) and Songwriting Circle; successfully organized and curated large-scale artist recruitment campaigns; launched domestic audio equipment brand BC Audio and high-end recording studio brand Studio 2426 (featuring cutting-edge technology and innovative concepts); and established Beijing Zhire Music Culture Communication Co., Ltd., dedicated to building a full-service international and professional music label.
