As an excellent percussion performer who spans classical, contemporary and jazz and is active on concert stages at home and abroad, Chenchu is praised as “the leader of percussion in contemporary music” by American media and “rare music pioneer” by world music master Tan Dun It is praised by UNESCO as “the pioneer of percussion and jazz with great Oriental color” and jazz master Jerry Bergonzi as “the pride and future of Oriental Jazz”

Since 2008, Chenchu has won major awards both in China and abroad, including the runner up of the artist group in the Greek global percussion competition and the champion of the Chinese percussion competition in Singapore, and won the title of “Drum King” in Hongkong international drum festival. After that, she made lots of great achievements and awards in both field of Chinese and Western Percussion. Later, Chenchu was appreciated by the world music maestro Tan Dun, and was invited to participate in his percussion concertos and the identity of guest percussion principle all over the world. She has performed in lots of great institute which include: UNESCO, Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra of the United States, Abu Dhabi Art global summit, Getty Museum of art in Los Angeles, Lyon Symphony Orchestra of France, Royal Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra of Germany, Tuscany Symphony Orchestra of Italy, Rotterdam Symphony Orchestra of the Netherlands , Italian Biennale etc. At the same time, she also performed as a soloist in major theaters and music festivals in China. In addition, as a soloist, Chenchu followed Professor Yu Yang, director of the Department of music engineering of Shanghai Conservatory of music, and won the support of the national art foundation for his work Liangzhu ( Intangible culture heritage).

Since 2012, Rong chenchu has started to set up his own percussion Orchestra “ChuChu percussion vibes” and perform a series of percussion ensemble performances. Try to integrate with various cultures. “Pluralism”, “improvisation” and “cross-border” are the characteristics of the percussion ensemble. Since 2017, it has set up its first jazz band “Easterners” and conducted a national tour. It integrates traditional Chinese music with jazz and contemporary music, and integrates the beauty of classical and jazz.
